App For Drone Flyers From The FAA

January 8, 2016

For those of you that enjoy flying drones and RC aircraft, here’s an app from the FAA to help determine if you’re in a safe area to fly.

From AVweb:

B4UFLY uses map and airport data, along with real-time information such as temporary flight restrictions, to help drone operators decide if they’re legal to fly in a selected area.

Safety Corner

Here at Mustang Squadron, we maintain a proactive safety process to minimize injuries no matter how slight they may be, which typically concerns Cadets, but includes Seniors as well. A part of this process requires the help of parents and cadets to be forthcoming about the cadets limitations to physical activities. Typically these limitations are expressed by doctors, but perhaps by coaches, or you the parent as well.

Mustang Squadron needs to know these limitations, so we may make the effort to restrict the cadets from the activities that may exacerbate the condition.

**Please confirm with a Senior in the Squadron of these limitations. The Safety Officer, Major Torres, will make every effort to restrict the cadets from activities that go beyond their limits.**

As a safeguard, we consistently express to cadets that they know their limits, not to exceed those limits, and not to be shy about it.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter,

Major Brenndan Torres, Mustang Cadet Squadron Safety Officer
