Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will initially be on their own and their actions can make a difference. There are no prerequisites for this class. While the class and training is not a CAP activity, this is a CAP Emergency Services certification.
Please see the post below for information on the class that will be starting in March. I would like to encourage you, your family, and friends to attend a CERT Academy.
Hello Citizens!
Enrollment for the March 2012 Arapahoe County CERT Class is now open! If you have already taken a CERT class, help us out by recommending the class to your like-minded friends and family. If you haven’t yet taken a CERT course, please consider joining us for this Academy.
Participants aged 16 and up are invited to join us for a 32-hour course filled with a variety of emergency preparedness and response-driven skills and learning opportunities, including fire suppression, basic first aid, and how to pack an emergency kit. Courses are offered free to residents of the Denver Metro Area!
Please register by visiting www.readycolorado.com and clicking on the “take a class” link. You will then be directed to search by class date or zip code. Type in our zip code (80112) to view the upcoming CERT course, or you may type in your own zip code to see all class opportunities in your area.
Spaces are limited and all applicants are subject to a screening process, so register early to ensure your space in this course. Please note that participants under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian waiver to participate, and all participants will be asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement and a liability waiver prior to participation.
The flyer for the course is attached. Please feel free to share this with your friends, families, and neighborhoods, and we hope to see you there!
